Well, except for regularizing logging. (I wanted to start it out clean for the new year.) Otherwise, it doesn't make a logical place to start doing any sort of self improvement programme. (and I already have one defined with a rather lazy schedule -- that is -- do things in the order you figure them out and not otherwise))

I've been playing around with seeing complex functions. This is nifty. As my sister said "ooh, pretty pictures"

prerequisites: access to unix system with gimp, ability to play with patterns
step 1: install the mathmap plugin
step 2: install Hans Lundmark's wrapper script in ~/.gimp-1.2/scripts
step 3: spend some time viewing various functions, so their poles and structure is impressed upon your visual imagination
step 4: turn on some techno music, interpose your hands between closed eyes an a sunbeam, and wave
them vigorously. (I suppose that such waving can be accomplished with a pair of motors and baffles too)

results.

I've cut out ginseng from my diet completely. As far as I can tell it was
inhibiting the most interesting ways of falling to sleep. (too excitatory? I'm
not certain of the mechanism, but I know it's not the way to go).

While the ginseng magnified the motivation to write with my left hand,
it didn't affect the amount of substance in that writing. (in fact, I think
that I've been waaaay too vague for an aeon and I think that
I shouldn't filter what I speak most of the time).

(much more chaos very soon, I think)

Imagine the One Ring.
Imagine Gir finding the one ring and trying it on.
Imagine Sauron's frustration.

Taken from here,
a quote I find particularly amusing: "
* The external appearance of the baby's face does not reveal the truly striking enormity of the dental battery developing within it.

So Rob's prospective roommate chose somewhere else.
Which means that there's a nice, succulent, empty, ferret-odor free
room. I have a contingency, but I'd really prefer having that other
paycheck for other things. Grrr.

I've been conscious for too long at the moment. Sleep is calling.
I think I shall sleep for a while, and then perhaps not panic. *whunk*

(with respect to planning a day out with a friend in
cleveland over a month in advance)

Tonight was good. First, the massage party was good, I ran into John and Shoshanna in Davis^2 in snackfinding and then went to Andor. Massive amounts
of suspects people. Ran into Roland and Kat(sp? --- yes, I can't remember her nick/name). At eight thirty I went to [livejournal.com profile] teafox's party and saw lots of good people. And now I'm at work (anyone got a sort of entry level real sysadmin position available? waaaah). I'm a little toasty right now but my brain is still in complete working order. Oh, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lyonesse for the hand massage. Now for eight more hours of mucking with my hands. (and her scapula and attached muscles should be feeling good). Wasn't there a protest tomorrow?

One of my cow orkers called in sick today. So I'm working to 12pm. I'm really
tired at the moment.

I've finally got a soild month worth of sleep logs. When I'm less tired I shall
figure out how long (on average) I stay awake (in contiguous awake-staying
intervals of time), and how long I sleep (again, on average).

Early this morning I cooked an associative array which I only have substantive access to the keys, but not their references. The keys are short, vaguely descriptive strings: "regrowing hand", "concrete box in dustland", "fast peleg", "house of flass". The values of the keys are the vague memories of dreams in my mind. I'm going somewhere with this. I don't have the chronological order which I dreamed these dreams.

Some times, I have days in which dream memories seem eager to jump onto my consciousness. I want
to know why.
